The Senior Identity & Access Management (IAM) Developer responsible for implementing identity and access management solutions using enterprise tools such as Sailpoint IdentityNow. The role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements, configuring IAM solutions, and ensuring the seamless integration of the platform with existing systems and applications. This Developer plays a critical role in application onboarding, enhancing security measures, managing user access, and maintaining compliance with regulatory standards. This role is a technical resource charged with leadership in application programming using Java, REST APIs, and other programming languages to automate Identity Governance across many applications. This includes writing, coding, testing, and analyzing technical objects. The Developer will also research, design, document, and modify software specifications throughout the production life cycle. The IAM Developer maintains current knowledge of new products, industry trends and recommends enhancements and purchases that allow Sherwin-Williams to maintain healthy and functional applications and protect its employees' identities. This is an individual contributor position.

Strategy and Planning

  • Acquire and interpret business requirements, creates a functional specification, and determines the most efficient/appropriate technologies.
  • Work with Architecture role to review standards in determining the best design to meet project requirements. Responsible for implementing approved architecture design.
  • Submit and review technical and process improvement recommendations as a member of the technical leadership team.

Acquisition and Deployment

  • Perform complex programming assignments requiring an advanced aptitude of established programming standards, methods, and best practices.
  • Design application and database components for development projects.
  • Perform analysis of business models, logical specifications, and/or customer requirements to design and build solutions utilizing multiple technologies.
  • Mitigate significant risks associated with projects, which have a high technical complexity and/or involve significant challenges to the business.

Operational Management

  • Maintain and modify applications; make approved changes by amending application documentation, developing detailed programming logic, and coding changes.
  • Provide support for critical application problems and issues.
  • Act as a Subject Matter Expert in the discovery and investigation of critical production problems as required.
  • Work with Quality Assurance to build and validate test scenarios and test cases against all requirements.
  • Provide business reports to management and clients.
  • Analyze application defects to determine if they fall within scope of project requirements.

Incidental Functions

  • Conduct research into new technologies, including tools, components, and frameworks.
  • Train and knowledge share with development teams.
  • Mentor and coach developers and/or Professional Apprentices.
  • Project and task management and reporting as necessary.
  • Make presentations to management, clients, and peer groups as requested.
  • Schedule and lead project and communication meetings with clients.
  • Provide tier 2, on-call support for critical application problems and issues.
  • Analyze performance of programs and take action to correct deficiencies based on consultation with clients and approval of supervisor.
  • Assist with other projects as may be required to contribute to efficiency and effectiveness of the work.
  • Participate in hiring activities and fulfilling affirmative action obligations and ensuring compliance with the equal employment opportunity policy.

This position has a hybrid work schedule with three days in the office and the option for working remotely two days.

Formal Education & Certification

  • Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in a Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Information Technology field of study (e.g., Information Technology, Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering, Computer Systems Management, Mathematics) or equivalent experience.

Knowledge & Experience

  • 5+ years of IT experience.
  • 5+ years Java programming and REST API experience
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience working on all phases of the Software Development Lifecycle.
  • Experience with Agile principles and practices
  • Strongly Preferred: experience with Identity and Access Management systems
  • Strongly Preferred: experience with Sailpoint IdentityNow
  • Preferred: 3+ years experience working with SQL.
  • Knowledge of all phases of Software Development Lifecycle.
  • Ability to review project plans with SME and team members and make suggestions or provide feedback based on the needs of the program.
