Job Summary
The sonographer is accountable for performing general and vascular ultrasound exams in the inpatient, outpatient, and Emergency Department settings. Performs all duties and responsibilities in such a way as to demonstrate and support the hospital's Catholic heritage and Avera co-sponsorship values of hospitality, compassion and stewardship. Provides care/service in accordance with regulatory and accrediting agencies standards and Catholic Ethical and Religious Directives. Ability to work independently.
Education and/or Experience
- Associate degree in Sonography or a certificate of successful completion from an accredited school of general or vascular ultrasound.
- 1-2 years’ experience is preferred
Licensure/Certification/Registration
- ARDMS (American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographer) Registered and/or Registered Vascular Technology (RVT) with an accrediting body such as the ARRT or ARDMS.
- If registry eligible only, you must obtain a registry within 1 year of employment.
- RVT required within 1 year of employment
- Basic Life Support within 6 months of hire.
Work Schedule
- Monday-Friday, 8:00am-4:30pm; 72 hours every 2 weeks
