Position Overview
Reporting to the Environmental Manager the Senior Environmental Engineer for the Arkansas Kraft Division will support the environmental compliance programs and related operational excellence activities for the mill.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities:
- Serve as the Air Compliance Program owner for the facility, responsible for developing, executing, and maintaining site compliance with the facility's Title V air permit.
- Interact with regulators on inspections, permit renewals, and permit modifications.
- Provide multi-media support to environmental team members in the areas of solid waste, hazardous waste, SPCC, and wastewater.
- Conduct employee environmental awareness training.
- Manage and assign tasks required for environmental compliance.
- Partner with facility personnel to implement process-related upgrades to ensure environmental compliance.
- Review capital projects to determine environmental obligations or required permit modifications.
- Develop and implement various sustainability and facility improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
- B.S. or higher in Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related field.
- Five or more years of direct air compliance and permitting experience in a Title V major source facility (pulp and paper experience preferred).
- Proficient in environmental regulations (CAA, RCRA, SARA, SPCC, etc.).
- Superior oral and written communication skills with the ability to efficiently deliver consistent messages at all levels within and outside of the organization.
- Ability to interpret, organize, and report data and information accurately.
- Strong team player who can effectively work with others to meet objectives.
- Good organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Self-starter with initiative and independence to complete tasks with urgency to meet deadlines.
- Advanced aptitude in MS Excel is preferred.
