ChristianaCare is hiring a full time Radiation Therapist at our Helen F. Graham Cancer Center.

As a Radiation Therapist you would, under clinical supervision of the Chief, and the professional direction of a radiation oncologist performs various radiation therapy treatments and/or simulations at a technical level requiring minimal supervision of technical details.
Schedule:
- Monday-Friday, 8 hour day shift
- No weekends or holidays

Responsibilities:
- Administers treatment or CT imaging with a Radiation Therapist II, through proper setup, positioning, machine preparation, and monitoring.
- Keeps accurate documentation of treatment administration and CT imaging; concurs with Radiation Therapist II regarding treatment and/or CT imaging
- Prepares and maintains scheduling of treatments, imaging procedures, simulations, and other appointments as appropriate.
- Accurately documents services rendered and charges appropriately
- Provides daily care and monitoring of patient's treatment tolerance, making necessary referrals.
- Observes all safety rules for patients and staff per National Regulatory Commission (NRC)
- Observes all hospital and departmental policies and procedures.
- Attends departmental meetings and in-services.
- Fabricates custom blocks and molds as needed under the direction of a physician, dosimetrist, physicist, or Radiation Therapist II.
- Cleans and maintains a clean and safe work environment.
- Assists with maintenance of supplies.
- Demonstrates skills and knowledge necessary to provide care appropriate to pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients, including age-appropriate interpretation and communication of patient needs.
- Performs assigned work safely, adhering to established departmental safety rules and practices. Reports to supervisor, in a timely manner, any unsafe activities, conditions, hazards, or safety violations that may cause injury to oneself, other employees, patients and visitors.
- Performs other related duties as required.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma
- Graduate of an accredited school for Radiation Therapy (CHEA, University-based program)
- Minimum one year experience preferred
Special Requirements:
- Board certification in Radiation Therapy Technology (ARRT)
- State of Delaware licensure as Radiation Therapy Technology; may be requested to obtain Maryland license.
