What you will do

Under direct supervision and using established standards, responsible for assisting with hardware designs, software programming, and technical validation/commissioning documentation for HVAC control and BMS systems to meet the intent of the project requirements. Assists with providing detailed information and submittals to communicate design and operation to customers, consultants, Johnson Controls field installation team and subcontractors.

How you will do it

Assists with hardware designs from standard design library for flow diagrams, sequence of operations, bill of material, network layouts and electrical schematics as required.

Assists with software programming using established standards as a basis of design.

Assists with the creation of necessary drawings and equipment schedules for submittals and installation.

Assists with selection, ordering, and tracking of the delivery of materials for assigned projects.

Assists with coordination of factory-mounting processes to meet factory and project schedule.

Assists in the loading and commissioning of all system and network-level controllers as required.

Assists in validation of complete system functionality and troubleshoots problems with subcontractors and other trades to ensure proper operation.

Assists with field changes from the project team and creates as-built drawings and software.

Prepares proper documentation and/or manuals for system operation.

Assists with authoring technical project documents and test procedures as needed to satisfy project requirements.

Keeps management and JCI contractor or customer informed of job progress and issues.

Completes administrative tasks including but not limited to time sheets, expense reports, and on-site documentation.

Adheres to safety standards. High degree of regard to employee and subcontractor safety.

What we look for

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Currently enrolled as a full-time student at an accredited U.S. college or university

Pursuing a degree inengineering or other technical field

An effective communicator to all levels of the organization

Must have demonstrated computer skills, including use of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint

U.S. citizen or legal right to work in the U.S.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Demonstrates an ability to learn quickly and independently

Strong communication skills (verbal and written) preferred

Strong problem-solving skills

Very self-motivated
