Labor & Delivery Unit - Travel Registered Nurse

Experience:

• 24 months of role experience is required with some in the last 12 months.

• Must have at least 24 months of Labor & Delivery Unit experience.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a Washington license or compact license (required after submission).

• This role may require floating to additional units and locations

• Local & travel allowed.

• COVID vaccination required after submission. Religious and medical declinations accepted.

Required Skills/Experience:

• Must have 2 years of experience, will consider someone with 1 year of experience if they have multiple prior travel experience.
• Must be comfortable attending deliveries independently and circulating in c-sections.
• Must be comfortable assisting with catching baby and transitioning baby.
• Required to titrate drips: Magnesium, Pitocin and Insulin

Types of Patients on Unit: 33 weeks and above. High risk, Preeclampsia, Diabetic, Psych/Social issues, positive elicit substance use

Unit Details:

• Unit Birthing Center/Mother Baby
• L&D Beds 34 total beds
• OR Suites on the unit for C-Sections 2
• Triage beds 2 Triage beds
• Postpartum beds 14
• Do you follow AWHONN guidelines for ratios 1:2 L&D & 1:3-4 couplets

Special Requests: We do block scheduling when requested in their contracts.

Shift & Scheduling:

• Weekend Requirement: Every other - Nights (Fri and Sat)
• Holiday Requirement: rotate in with perm staff
• Call Requirement: When placed standby, response time is 45 minutes

Floating Requirements: Mother baby and post-partum all one unit. No floating to NICU. No floating outside of the department; Labor Travelers also need to function in Postpartum with routine mom and baby competencies; also need to be able to transition babies & attend low risk deliveries.
