How you'll contribute

A Manager Education who excels in this role:

  • Develops and implements departmental goals, plans, and standards consistent with the clinical, administrative, legal, and ethical requirements/objectives of the organization.

  • Manages the orientation, training and instruction of new employees and the continued education and training of existing employees and Sovah Health contract staff.

  • Plans and monitors continuing education initiatives.

  • Develops, coordinates, conducts and evaluates organization-wide staff development programs.

  • Creates and fosters an environment that encourages professional growth.

  • Integrates evidence-based practices into operations and clinical protocols.

  • Develops and directs in-services and continuing education for organization personnel; interacts with staff, and nurse department managers to determine and to coordinate educational needs and programs.

What we're looking for

The right person Provides leadership for assessment, planning, coordinator, implementation and evaluation of orientation, in-services and educational training for Sovah Health - Martinsville.Functions in the role of a teacher, facilitator and internal consultant to departments within the hospital.

Applicants should have a current state RN. Additional requirements include:

  • Graduate of a professional school of Nursing.
  • Masters degree preferred
  • Basic Life Support certification is required.
  • Minimum of three (3) years recent experience in teaching and education management, preferably in healthcare education required
  • Experience in development of educational programs and in application of the teaching-learning process in a healthcare education department preferred.
