Operating room is collaborative team of surgeons, anesthesia, technologists, and registered nurses. One to one patient ratio. Numerous specialties including robotics, cardiovascular, orthopedics, plastics, OB-GYNE, neuro, urology, and trauma. Huge perk is getting to know the surgeons here and being able to request them to care for family members etc.

How you'll contribute

A Director (RN) Surgical Services who excels in this role:

  • Works closely with all emergency services staff

  • Establishes positive relationships with patients/families and visitors

  • Performs aseptic surgical techniques while functioning as a surgical assistant for trauma alerts/procedures

  • Responsible for the proper collection of most specimens used in laboratory analysis within the scope of their knowledge and experience (Phlebotomy, POC testing)

  • Performs point of care testing, and follows appropriate quality control procedures

  • Assists with the admission, transfer and discharge of patients as appropriate including the transporting of patients throughout the facility

What we're looking for
Applicants should possess a Bachelor's degree in Nursing or a health related field and state Registered Nurse Licensure. Additional requirements include:

  • Master's degree in Nursing/Leadership or Business Administrationpreferred

  • 5 years management experience in surgical service

  • 5 years direct patient care (surgery) preferred

  • CNOR or obtain in one year after accepting position preferred
