Labor & Delivery Unit - Travel Registered Nurse

Experience:

• 24 months of role experience is required with some in the last 12 months.

• Must have at least 24 months of Labor & Delivery Unit experience within the past 4 years.

• Travel experience is required from any number of months.

• Experience with Cerner is preferred from any number of months.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a California license (required for submission).

• This role may require floating to additional units and locations

• Local & travel allowed. Candidates living <50 miles from facility will be processed as local.

• COVID vaccination required after submission. Religious and medical declinations accepted.

• COVID booster required after submission. Religious and medical declinations accepted.

Required Skills/Experience:

• Can catch the baby - needed experience for this position.
• Must be able to read and interpret EKG strips.

Preferred Skills/Experience: Travelers that can work NRP role.

Types of Patients on Unit: Term, preterm, some high risk. Also have antepartum population.

Unit Details:

• Family Birthing Center - L&D and Mother Baby Ante/Post - all aspects of delivery.
• Ratios: 1:2 L&D, 1:1 delivery. 1:4 Mother/Baby couplets.

Previous Employment Requirements: Candidates may not have been directly employed (full time, part time, or PRN) by any facility associated with CommonSpirit, including CHI and/or Dignity within the past year. Candidates who were employed PRN through outside firms will be considered.

Special Requests: Block scheduling is generally not available.

Shift & Scheduling:

• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend.
• Holidays Rotate in with core staff.
• If placed on call: 30 minute response time.

Floating Requirements: All other Sacramento facilities. Mid-shift float to another facility is rare, but can happen - first to float.

Facility holidays: 01/01/2025, 11/27/2025, 12/25/2025. Number of holidays allowed off: 1. Start assignment restriction: 14 days

Driver’s license required for submission

• BLS (Basic Life Support)

• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
