Job Summary
This professional staff person is responsible for performing assessments, developing a plan of care, implementing and evaluating the care. The RN administers medications and treatments as ordered by physicians and in keeping with the current clinical nursing practice. The RN is responsible for directing, monitoring and evaluating the care delegated to non-licensed personnel. As a member of the interdisciplinary care team, the RN works collaboratively with the other members to assure the safe and accurate delivery of care. In addition, the RN performs a range of technical services in a cross-functional mode to comprehensively serve patient needs. Assumes, under the direction of the Laboratory, responsibility for patient specimen testing, quality control, quality improvement, and equipment maintenance.
• Assist Physician with Patient Care.
• Assists Physician with the medical review of patients. Ensures patient’s comfort and care throughout stay
• Administers immunizations as needed. Provides excellent phlebotomy service
• Assists physician with administration of treadmill stress test
• Escorts patients to and from ancillary departments/screenings
• Ensures accurate entry of orders in systems. Oversees medical supply use and ordering.
• Retrieves and returns food trays from dietary department as required
• Creates/assembles patient post packets
• Evaluates program efficiencies and needs for growth to maximum potential.
• Oversees customer satisfaction survey tools and analysis.
• Assures department policies and procedures are updated/current. Assures department JCAHO compliance.
• Makes suggestions for program improvement to increase marketability.
• Tracks patient satisfaction data. Maintains patient results database
• Maintains positive relationships with internal customers. Is effective in interacting with and problem solving.
• Maintains positive relationships with external customers. Is effective in interacting with and problem solving.
• Proactive in meeting customer’s needs. Responds promptly to customer needs or requests.
• Other duties as assigned
Education and Experience Required
• Associate Degree - required, Bachelors Degree - preferred
• 1 year of experience in acute or outpatient care required
• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
• (RN) Registered Nurse - If working under compact license, must have current state licensure within 60 days.
