Winholt Equipment is seeking an experienced Drafter – Custom Fabrication to create detailed, production-ready drawings for custom foodservice equipment. This role is ideal for a skilled drafter who can work independently, manage multiple projects, and turn concepts into accurate designs ready for manufacturing.
The successful candidate will collaborate with engineers, drafters, sales, and production teams to support fast-paced, custom fabrication projects while maintaining high standards for accuracy and quality.
Job Duties Include:
- Create detailed drawings for custom-fabricated foodservice equipment, including assemblies, subassemblies, and components.
- Translate customer requirements, sketches, and layouts into manufacturable designs.
- Develop and maintain accurate Bills of Materials (BOMs).
- Apply knowledge of sheet metal, welding, forming, tolerances, and fabrication processes.
- Prepare complete, shop-ready drawing packages with clear manufacturing instructions.
- Manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines with minimal revisions.
- Work closely with laser, forming, welding, and assembly teams to resolve design and production issues.
- Respond to shop-floor questions and make necessary drawing revisions.
- Participate in design reviews and collaborate with engineering and operations teams.
- Provide technical support and guidance to less experienced team members as needed.
- Help minimize rework by ensuring accurate, high-quality drawings and documentation.

Requirements:
- Associate or bachelor's degree in Drafting, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Extensive drafting experience in a manufacturing or fabrication environment.
- Proven ability to independently manage complex custom fabrication projects.
- Advanced proficiency in CAD software; SolidWorks preferred.
- Strong knowledge of sheet metal design and fabrication drawings.
- Understanding of MIG/TIG welding and metal-forming processes.
- Experience with ERP systems; Epicor preferred.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work efficiently and accurately in a fast-paced environment.

- Ability to work in a typical office environment.
- Ability to access and work on the shop and warehouse floor while following all PPE requirements.
- Ability to sit, stand, walk, stoop, bend, crouch and carry materials as needed.
