GTI is a contract manufacturing partner supporting customers in renewable energy, power generation, infrastructure, and industrial systems.
We fabricate custom designed, purpose-built enclosures and skids for our customers and perform mechanical and electrical integration in-house, delivering a true turn-key product to our customers. Our scope spans Engineering, prototype builds, through full production, requiring teams that can move fast, adapt, and execute with precision.

Position Overview

GTI is seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead and develop a multidisciplinary engineering team supporting complex, custom-engineered products.

This is a technical leadership role for someone who can do more than manage people and schedules. We're looking for an engineering leader who can mentor engineers, challenge designs, help solve technical problems, and drive projects from concept through manufacturing and production.

The Engineering Manager will work closely with Mechanical, Electrical, Structural, Manufacturing, Program Management, and Operations teams to deliver safe, reliable, manufacturable solutions for our customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a multidisciplinary team of engineers.
  • Provide hands-on technical guidance and support engineers through complex design challenges.
  • Lead design reviews and ensure designs meet customer requirements, engineering standards, manufacturability, cost, and schedule.
  • Support development of custom power generation, energy storage, and industrial equipment.
  • Partner closely with Manufacturing to resolve design, fabrication, assembly, and production issues.
  • Drive projects from concept and design through prototype, validation, release, and production.
  • Establish engineering priorities, allocate resources, and remove technical roadblocks.
  • Strengthen engineering standards, processes, documentation, and design practices.
  • Partner with customers, suppliers, and internal teams to resolve technical issues.
  • Recruit, coach, and develop engineering talent while building a high-accountability, collaborative team.
Requirements

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
  • 8+ years of progressive engineering experience with demonstrated technical depth.
  • Experience leading and developing engineers in a product design or equipment engineering environment.
  • Experience taking engineered products or equipment from design through manufacturing/production.
  • Strong understanding of design for manufacturing and the ability to work directly with fabrication/production teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to review technical work, troubleshoot problems, and mentor engineers.
  • Strong cross-functional and customer communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with power generation, BESS/energy storage, packaged power equipment, generators, transformers, switchgear, turbomachinery, process equipment, modular/skid systems, or similar complex industrial equipment.
  • Experience leading multidisciplinary Mechanical and Electrical Engineering teams.
  • Experience with fabricated steel structures, enclosures, piping, HVAC/thermal systems, controls, or electrical integration.
  • Experience in an ETO, CTO, NPI, or high-mix/low-volume manufacturing environment.
  • SolidWorks, AutoCAD, FEA, or other relevant engineering tools.
