Responsibilities
JOB SUMMARY
TheJourneyman 1-HVACis responsible forinstalling, repairing, andmaintainingsystems or structures, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, and providing guidance to other service techs.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provides supportbyinterpreting blueprints as needed byforemanto ensurea timelyand quality completion of the project.
- Provides support by coordinating and following job schedules; i.e., labor hours, and material costs.
- Install heating, cooling, and ventilation systems, including ductwork, thermostats, air handlers, and refrigeration units.
- Perform system start-ups and ensure proper functioning of installed systems.
- Ability to use hand and power tools and good mechanical skills.
- Knowledge of jobsite safety, ability to oversee work activities to ensure safe work practices and safety rule compliance.
- Provide guidance to junior technicians.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education / Training
- High school diploma or GED, equivalent work experience and trade or technical school classes.
- Valid journeyman's license or certification in the relevant specialty trade.
Work Experience/Skills
- 3-5years of experience in the construction industry preferred and hands on field experience in commercial refrigeration, electrical and/or fixtures construction.
- Proficiency in the use of hand tools, power tools, and machinery related to the trade.
- Strong understanding of building codes, safety standards, and industry regulations.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
