Forklift Operator

About the Role

VegPro International Inc. is seeking a dependable and safety-focused Forklift Operator to join our Shipping and Receiving team in Belle Glade, FL. This position is responsible for supporting daily receiving, shipping, product movement, order picking, and warehouse operations to ensure materials and finished products are handled accurately, safely, and on time.

The ideal candidate has warehouse and forklift experience, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced refrigerated food production environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Receive and ship raw materials, finished products, packaging products, and ingredients.
• Load and unload trucks safely and efficiently.
• Verify product quantities against receiving and shipping documents.
• Scan labels and accurately enter or confirm information in the system.
• Pick orders using a pallet jack or forklift, as required.
• Rotate products using FIFO methods and follow proper storage standards.
• Perform forklift inspections and report maintenance needs for forklifts, yard equipment, and shunters.
• Maintain product integrity and report any potential contamination, unsafe condition, or equipment issue.
• Follow company safety policies, Good Manufacturing Practices, HACCP, GFSI, and C-TPAT requirements.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
• Use required personal protective equipment and comply with dress code requirements.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Minimum of one year of warehouse, forklift, and truck loading/unloading experience preferred.
• Ability to pass a forklift operation test and order-picking assessment.
• Strong basic math skills for accurate product counts.
• Ability to communicate in English; Spanish is a plus.
• Knowledge of HACCP and safety standards is a plus.
• Ability to work calmly, efficiently, and safely under pressure.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements

This position requires standing, walking, bending, reaching, and occasional lifting of up to 50 lbs. Work is performed in production and warehouse areas that may be cold and damp, including refrigerated areas of approximately 38°ree;F / 4°ree;C. The role may also require occasional computer use in an office environment.
