Job Description

Weareseekingacollaborativeand proactiveCivil EngineeringProject Managerto join our Northern California Civil team inPetaluma, CAto manage and driveland development andinfrastructureprojects to successful completion. This role is designed for a proficient civil engineering professional who excels in both engineering and project management.

As a Project Manager at KPFF, you willplay a key roleonour team andbe responsible formanaging projects, leading internal design teams, andinterfacingwithclientsand project stakeholders.Therole requires the ability to effectively communicate with a variety of people, be a self-starter and adeptatproblem-solving, andhave a strong commitment todeliveringquality work.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • ProjectManagementof multiplesite development and/or infrastructureprojects.
  • Collaboratingwith Project Stakeholders: Play a lead role on projects including interfacingwith clients, internal and external project teams.
  • Provide Technical Expertise and Oversight:Overseecivilengineering design and calculations, ensuring accuracy,qualityand compliance with industry standards,best practices,building codes, and regulatory requirements. Direct teams in the preparation ofcivil engineeringdrawings, specifications, and technical reports.
  • Mentor and Lead Project Teams: Provide guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and project team members, fostering professional growth and a collaborative project environment. Delegate tasks effectively whilemaintaininghigh standardsof quality.
  • Manage ProjectScope,Schedules, Budgets, and Resources: Develop andmaintainproject schedules,prepare work plans,track project budgets, andallocateresources efficiently to ensure project milestones are achieved.
Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
  • At least8years of relevant experience incivil engineeringdesignwith increasing responsibility including project management,with a focusonsite developmentprojects
  • Professional Engineer (PE) licensein California.
  • Proficiencyin AutoCADandCivil 3D.
  • Experience with sustainable design practices, meeting Low Impact Development (LID) and hydromodification, and the ability to prepare drainage reports and stormwater control plans.
  • Demonstrated experience inmanagingproject schedules,scopeandbudgets; and preparing project work plans.
  • In-depth understanding of civil engineering principles, codes, andindustrybest-practices,includingfamiliarity with various local municipalitiespermitting requirements.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication abilitiesand collaboration skills.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple active projects concurrently.
  • Knowledge of codes, regulations, and standards applicable to the design and construction of major site development projects in California.
  • Competency,accountabilityand personal commitment to deliveringquality work to our clients.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods while working on a computer, reviewing plans, orattending meetings.
  • Occasionallyvisitingproject sitesand performing field observations,which may involve walking, standing, kneeling, ornavigatinguneven terrain.
  • Occasionallylifting upto 15 pounds of equipment or materials.


Additional Information

Compensation
The base salary for this role is competitive, with a rangeof$100,000 - $150,000,determinedby experience, education, and skills. KPFF also offers performance-based bonuses to recognize outstanding contributions.Additionaldetails about the full compensation package will be provided during the interview process.
