Warehouse Supervisor Job Description
The External Warehouse Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating daily warehouse operations within the manufacturing facility. This role ensures efficient and safe storage, retrieval, and movement of raw materials, work-in-progress inventory, and finished goods. The Warehouse Supervisor will lead a team of warehouse employees, optimize workflow, and maintain accurate inventory records while adhering to safety regulations and company policies.
Essential Responsibilities:
• Manage and develop warehouse staff by leading, training, and motivating. Schedule daily tasks, monitor performance, and provide feedback.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and partner with HR to resolve employee issues.
• Oversee material flow from receipt to shipment, ensuring accurate inventory, efficient storage, and smooth coordination with production.
• Manage warehouse equipment and maintain a safe, organized environment.
• Ensure accurate inventory control by conducting cycle counts, resolving discrepancies, maintaining records in the ERP/WMS, monitoring stock levels, and implementing control procedures.
• Ensure adherence to safety regulations and OSHA standards through regular inspections, hazard mitigation, personnel training, and meticulous record-keeping.
• Facilitate seamless logistics operations by coordinating with internal departments and external freight partners, scheduling shipments, ensuring timely material delivery to production, and resolving shipping discrepancies.
• Track and report on warehouse performance metrics, identify and implement process improvements to optimize efficiency and reduce costs, generate inventory and shipping reports, and actively participate in team meetings.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
Skills and Qualifications:
• High school diploma or equivalent is required
• Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration or related field preferred
• 7+ years of experience in warehouse operations, preferably in a manufacturing environment, with at least 4+ years in a supervisor role
• Strong knowledge of warehouse management principles and practices.
• Proficient in using ERP/WMS systems.
• Experience with material handling equipment, including forklifts.
• Forklift certification is highly desired.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Knowledge of safety regulations and procedures.
• Ability to lift and move heavy objects.
Physical Requirements:
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
• Ability to lift and carry heavy objects.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work in varying temperatures.
