Position Summary
The Production Clerk supports the production team by ensuring accurate and timely documentation, data entry, recordkeeping, and reporting of production activities within a pistachio processing facility. This position plays a key role in maintaining production records, coordinating with multiple departments, and ensuring compliance with company policies, food safety standards, and operational requirements.
Essential Functions
- Accurately record production data, including quantities processed, equipment downtime, and employee hours.
- Maintain and update production logs, reports, and related documentation.
- Coordinate with production supervisors, logistics personnel, and quality control teams to support efficient operations.
- Communicate discrepancies, production issues, or data concerns to appropriate personnel.
- Prepare and distribute daily, weekly, and monthly production reports.
- Track and report key performance indicators (KPIs) related to production goals and operational performance.
- Monitor inventory levels of raw materials and production supplies.
- Assist with generating material requisitions and inventory-related documentation.
- Ensure production records comply with company policies, GMPs, food safety requirements, and regulatory standards.
- Support internal and external audits by providing accurate and current production records.
- Organize, maintain, and file production documents and records.
- Assist production supervisors with scheduling and workforce planning activities.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members.
- Maintain regular and reliable attendance.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education and Experience
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Associate degree in a related field preferred.
- One (1) to two (2) years of clerical, administrative, or production support experience preferred.
- Experience in manufacturing, food processing, or industrial environments preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Familiarity with ERP systems preferred.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Basic math and data entry skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Work Environment
- Food manufacturing and production environment.
- Combination of office and plant-floor work.
- Exposure to dust, noise, varying temperatures, and moving machinery.
- Indoor work with occasional exposure to production areas.
- May work around pistachios and other tree nut allergens.
- Frequent interaction with production, logistics, quality, and administrative personnel.
