Our client is seeking an experienced and hands-on Accounting Manager to lead and oversee the day-to-day operations of the Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions.

The Accounting Manager will play a key role in developing staff, strengthening internal controls, and partnering with leadership to improve financial operations.
What You’ll Do
- Provide leadership and oversight for the Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions
- Lead, mentor, and develop AP and AR team members
- Ensure timely and accurate processing of vendor invoices, payments, customer invoices, cash applications, and collections
- Monitor AP and AR aging and work with the team to resolve outstanding issues
- Oversee customer collections and help establish effective processes for managing past-due accounts
- Ensure vendors and suppliers are paid accurately and on time
- Review and improve processes, workflows, and internal controls within the AP and AR functions
- Identify opportunities for automation and increased efficiency
- Assist with month-end close activities, including account reconciliations and accruals
- Review key balance sheet accounts and support the accuracy of financial records
- Partner with operations, purchasing, sales, and other internal departments to resolve billing, payment, and customer account issues
- Develop and monitor key performance metrics for the AP and AR teams
- Assist with audit requests and provide supporting documentation as needed
- Participate in special projects and other accounting initiatives

- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience
- Previous supervisory or management experience is preferred, but will consider indirect leadership as well
- Strong understanding of AP, AR, cash application, collections, reconciliations, and month-end close
- Experience improving accounting processes and implementing stronger controls
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Comfortable being both a hands-on contributor and people leader
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Advanced Excel skills and experience working within an ERP or accounting system
