Heavy Equipment Operator – Five+ Years Commercial Grading Experience Required

Position Overview:
Carrollwood Farms is seeking an experienced Heavy Equipment Operator to join our in-house Sitework & Grading team. This position offers the opportunity to work on a wide variety of large-scale projects across a unique, world-class property. We are looking for an experienced operator who can work across multiple types of equipment, take direction from the Superintendent, and contribute as part of a skilled grading team. Candidates must have a minimum of five years of commercial sitework and grading experience, including roadway and/or commercial construction projects.
Responsibilities:
- Participate in a skilled grading team under the direction of the Superintendent.
- Operate a variety of heavy equipment,as assigned by the Superintendent, including dozers, loaders, excavators, off-road trucks, compactors, skid steers, water trucks, backhoes, motor graders, andmini-excavators.This work will be done to execute land management initiatives including building ponds, roads, building pads, site development, erosion control, and much more.
- Participate in team tasks including but not limited to building and maintaining erosion control features, clearing land, loading logs for sale, running a chipper and shaker,performing bulk grading, whennecessaryperform finish grading, installing pipe and stormwater control systems, (which may involve installingprecast drain inlet and other structuresand other materials), and other projects.
- In addition to these gradingdutiesthe operator will be part of a team which in the winter monthsis responsible forbuilding trailsatthe farm. That work includes running chainsaws.
- At timesoperatea forestry head, whether self-propelled or on other equipment.
- Perform other duties as requested by ownership and management, including work not describedhereinand possibly across disciplines beyond sitework and grading.
- Maintain equipment daily, including greasing and keeping the interior and exterior of all equipment in good working order.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of five years’ experience in commercial sitework and grading – including commercial sitework and/orroadways.
- Proven ability tooperatea wide range of equipment, from skid steers to large excavators and dozers.
- Ability toestablishand work to grade, includingdemonstratedexperience shooting grade and setting grade stakes.
- Strong understanding of excavation, hauling, grading, and land development principles.
- Experience with erosion control methods and practices.
- Valid driver's licenserequired. Class A CDL preferred.
- Commitment to safety, a positive attitude, and a strong work ethic.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with the team.
- Ability totakedirection.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to perform various physical tasks including bending, lifting, kneeling, and twisting.
Ability to occasionally lift up to 70 lbs.
Must be able to walk, sit, and stand for extended periods.
Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions, including rain.
