Position Title: Accounting Support 3

Reports to: Controller

POSITION SUMMARY

IRP Med is seeking an Accounting Support 3 role who will perform routine accounting activities under general supervision, while providing support to the Financial Accounting and Control team(s) with clerical tasks and records management.

This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working in rapidly changing environments, is flexible and interested in not only executing the assigned responsibilities, but also interacting with others to timely resolve issues.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Following is a list of essential functions. Additional duties may be assigned from time to time depending on workload:

  • Generate customer invoices from the company’s ERP system
  • Post AR payments accurately (ACH, wire, checks)
  • Perform collections and follow up on past-due accounts via email and phone
  • Respond to customer inquiries and resolve AR discrepancies
  • Prepare monthly AR aging reports and participate in review meetings with Sales and Management
  • Place non-compliant accounts on credit hold and notify all stakeholders
  • Resolve disputed invoices and process credits when necessary
  • Review, process, and follow up on credit applications
  • Evaluate creditworthiness using D&B, references and bank statements
  • Release customer orders from hold after credit resolution
  • Upload invoices to customer EDI portals as needed
  • Verify, process, and record supplier invoices to ensure alignment with purchase orders and receipts
  • Scan invoices and enter data into the local ERP system while preventing duplicate or unauthorized payments
  • Propose weekly cash disbursements and generate ACH payments with bank
  • Participate in the monthly close process by generating various journal entries, preparing required reconciliations, and analytically reviewing specific general ledger accounts for accuracy and proper valuation
  • Ensure financial business processes are in compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and/or governmental requirements
  • Other responsibilities as assigned

REQUIRED SKILLS

  • Technical Proficiency:
  • Demonstrated understanding and experience in financial accounting and control processes, while ensuring compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
  • Ability to solve problems in straightforward situations and analyzes possible solutions using technical experience, judgment and precedents
  • Strong excel knowledge required, proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail, good organizational skills and the ability to prioritize changing situations
  • Communication: Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills

EDUCATION & JOB HISTORY REQUIREMENTS

  • Education:Post-Secondary Degree in Accounting or equivalent combination of relevant education and work experience that will allow successful performance of job expectation.
  • Experience: More than 5 years of professional experience with at least two years of relevant credit and collections experience, 1-2 years in a manufacturing environment is a positive.
