Inspection Intern (Summer)
Location: Indianapolis, IN
Position Summary
The Inspection Intern will assist the inspection team with roadway improvement projects while gaining hands-on experience in construction inspection, project documentation, and construction administration.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the inspection team with roadway improvement projects to ensure high-quality construction in accordance with design specifications.
- Learn to review construction drawings, plans, and specifications to support the Project Supervisor as assigned.
- Assist with preparation of daily construction reports, including personnel logs, pay items, quantities, and summaries of daily construction activities.
- Assist with documenting construction progress and maintaining accurate project records.
- Work with inspectors, contractors, engineers, and project team members to support project goals and deadlines.
- Participate in field observations and inspections as assigned.
- Work within a team environment and complete assigned tasks in a professional manner.
Qualifications
- Currently pursuing a degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet project deadlines.
- Demonstrated ability to see a project through to completion.
- Ability to work effectively in a field environment and adapt to changing project conditions.
- Previous construction, inspection, or engineering experience is a plus.
