Responsibilities
As part of the region’s largest health system, you will join a collaborativePerioperative Servicesteamthatsupports a wide range of highacuity surgical specialties, including trauma, neurosurgery, orthopedics, plastics, gynecology, vascular access, oral and maxillofacialsurgeryand general surgery. The RN Educator, Perioperative Services plays a critical role in supporting staff across PreOperative Education, Short Stay and PostAnesthesia Care Unit, ensuring safe, consistent, and evidencebased perioperative care.
In this role, you will plan and coordinate orientation and onboarding for new hires andtransfers,ensuring staff are prepared to safely care forhighacuitypatients across all age groups. You will design,deliverand evaluate staff education, competency fairs and ongoing learning initiatives while serving as a mentor and trusted clinical resource for nurses and ancillary staff. You willmaintainhandsoninvolvement in patient care to support clinical competence, regulatorycomplianceand credibility with perioperative teams, including providing guidance during complex orhighrisksituations. You will also lead the Unit Practice Council, collaborate with interdisciplinary partners, and supportstaffidentifiedproblem solving and performance improvement efforts.
