Gas Systems Engineer

Aquinas Consulting is currently looking to fill a Gas Systems Engineer job in Windsor, CT. This DIRECT hire job is available with one of our key customers in the marine technology industry. In this role, you will be responsible for owning the design, safety, testing, deployment, and customer training for high-pressure hydrogen and oxygen gas systems that power autonomous underwater vehicles. In order to be successful in this position, you must have seven plus years of gas systems engineering experience with high-pressure, hydrogen, oxygen, flammable, and oxidizing gas systems. Preference will be given to someone with hydrogen fuel cell, COPV, oxygen cleaning, and maritime or subsea systems experience.

Gas Systems Engineer Job responsibilities:

• Design and own high-pressure hydrogen and oxygen gas delivery systems for subsea fuel cell platforms.
• Own the safety and performance of deployed gas systems and make safety-critical engineering decisions.
• Develop test procedures, verification and validation plans, safety documentation, and operating procedures.
• Ensure designs comply with ASME B31.3, NFPA 2, CGA 5.5, and ASTM G88 standards.
• Support deployment and deliver customer training on gas systems.
• Provide technical leadership and manage vendor and supplier qualification as products move from prototype to commercial production.

Qualifications:

• Seven plus years of gas systems engineering experience
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Chemical Engineering
• Experience with high-pressure, hydrogen, oxygen, flammable, and oxidizing gas systems
• Knowledge of ASME B31.3, NFPA 2, CGA 5.5, and ASTM G88
• Eligible for NATO Secret Clearance
• Strong communication and leadership skills
• Fuel cell, hazardous area instrumentation, PLC, or autonomous robotics experience a plus
