Accounting Manager

Our client is a specialty finance companyfocused on providing senior and subordinated financing of up to $3.0 million to small and lower middle-market businesses in all industries secured by equipment and real estate collateral nationally. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who wants real influence over how the department runs, not just a seat at the table.

You'll manage a small team, including onsite staff and outsourced accounting support, and take ownership of the general ledger, month-end close, and financial statement preparation. You'll also be a key partner to the CFO on bank relationships, audits, budgeting, and forecasting, and you'll have real input into process improvements across the wider organization.

What you'll do:

Manage 2 to 3 accounting staff, both onsite and outsourced. Own daily accounting operations including journal entries and account reconciliations. Partner with the CFO on monthly financial statements, budgeting, and forecasting. Lead process improvement initiatives across accounting and the broader business. Manage periodic accounting and bank audits. Support the CFO on bank relationships and reporting. Oversee month-end close and journal entry processes, including integration between the company's lending platform and QuickBooks. Manage the 1099 process. Ensure the department stays compliant with internal accounting policies.

What you'll bring

Five or more years in accounting, with a track record of progression into Senior Accountant or Accounting Manager. Strong financial and operations accounting knowledge, with real strength in financial analysis. Solid Excel skills, SQL or Access experience is a plus. Experience with automated accounting systems, QuickBooks preferred. Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting, or in Business/Finance with accounting coursework. CPA license preferred, or well underway.

Salary Range: $120k
