Water Systems Specialist

About the Position

Prestige H2O is growing and seeking experienced Water Systems Specialists to provide coverage throughout the Lansing and Kalamazoo areas.

This is a hands-on field position supporting drinking water, municipal wastewater, and industrial wastewater treatment systems at multiple client facilities within an assigned service area.

Multiple positions may be available. Candidates with a strong wastewater background and multiple Michigan wastewater certifications are especially encouraged to apply.

What You'll Do

• Operate and inspect drinking water and wastewater treatment systems
• Perform routine water and wastewater sampling and testing
• Monitor treatment processes and make operational adjustments as needed
• Inspect wells, treatment equipment, distribution systems, lift stations, lagoons, clarifiers, filtration systems, and related equipment
• Perform preventative maintenance and assist with system repairs
• Troubleshoot pumps, motors, controls, floats, piping, and treatment equipment
• Maintain required operational logs and documentation
• Assist with regulatory compliance and reporting
• Respond to service calls and emergency situations when necessary
• Travel between client facilities within the assigned service area
• Work independently as well as alongside other Prestige H2O team members

Required & Preferred Qualifications

We are looking for dependable, mechanically inclined, self-motivated professionals with strong troubleshooting skills who are comfortable working independently at multiple client facilities.

Drinking Water Certifications – Preferred

• S-4 or higher
• D-4 or higher

Industrial Wastewater Certifications – Preferred

• A-1b
• A-1f
• B-2a
• C-2a
• C-2c
• C-3a
• C-3b

Additional municipal or industrial wastewater certifications are strongly valued.

We will consider the overall combination of licenses, hands-on experience, and ability to operate multiple treatment systems. Strong wastewater licensing and experience may be considered even without all preferred drinking water certifications.

A valid driver's license is required.

• Hands-on water or wastewater treatment experience
• Strong mechanical and troubleshooting abilities
• Michigan water and/or wastewater certifications
• The ability to work independently in the field
• Strong attention to operational procedures and documentation
• Dependability and a strong work ethic
• The ability to travel between multiple client facilities

Don't have every certification listed? Apply anyway. A strong wastewater background, multiple wastewater certifications, and relevant field experience may substitute for some drinking water certifications.
