Location: Bellingham
We are seeking a reliable packer and shipper to join our manufacturing team and ensure that precision metal parts and components are safely packaged, accurately verified, and efficiently supplied to our customers while strictly following quality management systems.
Responsibilities
- Pack manufactured parts securely to prevent customer goods from sustaining damage during transit
- Verify and assure that all outgoing parts sent to customers are completely accurate
- Maintain detailed inventory records with each shipment to guarantee precision and traceability
- Implement company quality management systems by working to established procedures, flow charts, and work instructions while supporting continuous improvement
- Load and unload transport trucks, wrap pallets, and strap shipments securely to prevent product damage
- Transport incoming parts to quality control for incoming inspection and route materials to correct departments
- Maintain a steady, efficient flow of operations on the shipping floor
- Practice proper safety procedures and maintain effective work habits daily
- Keep immediate work areas and aisles clear of obstacles to maintain safe material handling and good housekeeping
- Uphold corporate quality policies and work proactively toward meeting organizational goals
- Ensure production cycles and departmental efficiencies are consistently met or exceeded
- Ensure the company quality management system abides by customer, internal, ISO 9001, and regulatory legal requirements
- Comply with all OSHA safety regulations and manufacturing standards
Qualifications
- Minimum of 1 year of related experience working in a packing or shipping department within a manufacturing environment, though the position is fully trainable for candidates with a strong aptitude
- Conscientious, well organized, and detail-oriented work style
- Strong work ethic and flexibility to work any shift as required by production demands
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and consistently meet strict deadlines
- Strong analytical background including familiarity with core manufacturing principles
