About This Role

We are seeking a reliable part-time Bus Driver to join our early childhood program operating out of 1500 North 34th Street, Superior, WI. This position offers a steady schedule of 25 hours per week, making it a perfect fit for a retiree or semi-retiree looking for an engaging, community-minded role. In this position, you will be responsible for safely transporting young children aged 3 to 5 years old between their homes and our center, ensuring they begin and end their day with a familiar, friendly face.



What You'll Do

  • Safely operate a transit bus or specialized passenger vehicle on designated community routes.
  • Provide a warm, welcoming, and reassuring environment for preschool-aged children.
  • Maintain full compliance with all Department of Transportation (DOT) and Wisconsin Department of Children and Families (DCF) regulations.
  • Perform routine pre-trip and post-trip safety and mechanical inspections of the vehicle.
  • Supervise the safe boarding, seating, and unboarding of all children.


Requirements

Possession of a valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class B with Passenger (P) endorsement.

  • Completion of, or willingness to complete, mandatory Wisconsin DCF-approved Abusive Head Trauma (AHT) / Shaken Baby Syndrome training prior to starting.
  • A clean and safe driving record spanning at least three continuous years.
  • Ability to pass a mandatory DOT medical examination and pre-employment background screening.
  • Excellent patience and communication skills tailored for interacting with young children and their parents.


Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience operating a school bus or driving vehicles for early childhood education programs.
  • Prior experience working with toddlers, preschoolers, or within community youth organizations.
  • Thorough knowledge of the local neighborhood streets and driving geography of Superior, WI.
