American Sign Language Paraprofessional Job

ASL Fluent Paraprofessional – $30/hr | Marysville / Yuba City, CA

ProCare Therapy is hiring a full-time Paraprofessional in the Marysville, California area, directly across from Yuba City.

We are looking for someone who is fluent in American Sign Language (ASL) and interested in using those skills to support students in a school setting. You do not need to be a certified interpreter or hold a specialized license for this position.

Pay: $30 per hour
Hours: 32.5–35 hours per week

Main Qualification

Fluency in American Sign Language (ASL) is required.

This is a paraprofessional position, not a licensed ASL interpreter position. Candidates do not need an EIPA, RID certification, or interpreter license to be considered.

Preferred Experience

While previous school experience is preferred, we are open to candidates from a variety of backgrounds. Strong candidates may have experience as an:

ASL Aide or ASL Paraprofessional
Special Education Paraprofessional
Classroom or Instructional Aide
1:1 Student Aide
Deaf and Hard of Hearing program aide
Childcare or youth support professional
Caregiver or Direct Support Professional

Experience working directly with Deaf or Hard of Hearing students is especially valuable.

What You'll Do
Communicate with students using ASL throughout the school day
Provide individual and classroom-based support
Assist with academic activities, classroom routines, and transitions
Help students participate and communicate within the school environment
Follow teacher direction and established student support plans
Encourage student independence and participation
Collaborate with teachers, Special Education staff, and other school professionals
