We are looking for a Manufacturing Cost Accountant to join a plastics manufacturing organization in Las Colinas, TX. This position will play a key role in delivering accurate product costing, inventory analysis, and financial insight that supports operational and business decisions. The ideal candidate will bring strong manufacturing accounting experience, a sharp analytical mindset, and the ability to work closely with finance and plant leadership to improve cost visibility and performance.

Responsibilities:

• Build and maintain cost accounting processes that accurately capture material, labor, and overhead expenses across manufacturing activities.

• Prepare product and project cost allocations in accordance with established accounting guidelines and reporting standards.

• Evaluate cost trends, investigate variances, and highlight findings that may influence margins, efficiency, or overall profitability.

• Work with finance, production, and supply chain teams to deliver reporting, costing analysis, and practical recommendations for decision-making.

• Contribute to annual physical inventory activities and ongoing cycle count programs to support accurate inventory records.

• Assess inventory reserve balances, identify potential adjustments, and provide recommendations based on financial analysis.

• Assist with budgets, forecasts, cost reports, year-end audit support, and other recurring financial reviews.

• Partner with plant and operational leaders to understand manufacturing cost drivers, track performance indicators, and support continuous improvement efforts.

• Support new product costing and quoting while helping refine costing methods, reporting workflows, standard procedures, and automation opportunities within cost accounting systems.

• Demonstrated experience in cost accounting within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of manufacturing cost accounting, standard costing, and cost analysis principles.
• Ability to interpret financial and operational data, identify issues, and solve problems effectively.
• Clear communication skills with the ability to collaborate across finance, production, and supply chain functions.
• High level of accuracy, organization, and attention to detail in a fast-paced setting.
• Proven ability to manage multiple deadlines and shifting priorities successfully.
• Willingness and ability to travel up to 25% as needed.
