About the Position
We are seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive Assistant Project Manager (APM) to join our construction team.
The Assistant Project Manager will play a critical role in coordinating and tracking construction projects from contract award through final completion and closeout. This position will work closely with the Project Manager, Superintendent, subcontractors, vendors, suppliers, customers, and internal departments to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, according to plans and specifications, and to the company's quality standards.
The ideal candidate is someone who naturally takes ownership, follows through on commitments, communicates well, identifies problems before they become issues, and can manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced construction environment.
This is a hands-on project coordination role. The successful candidate will be expected to stay on top of the details and make sure that nothing falls through the cracks.
Key Responsibilities
1. Project Startup & Handoff
Assist the Project Manager with transitioning projects from estimating/sales into active construction.
2. Preconstruction & Planning
Coordinate the administrative and logistical requirements necessary to prepare a project for construction.
3. Project Scheduling & Coordination
Help maintain the project schedule from start to finish.
4. Procurement & Material Tracking
Ensure materials, equipment, and services are ordered and delivered when needed.
5. Subcontractor & Vendor Coordination
Assist in managing subcontractors and vendors throughout the project.
6. Project Documentation & Communication
Maintain accurate and organized project documentation throughout construction.
7. Change Orders & Scope Management
Assist the Project Manager in identifying, pricing, documenting, and tracking changes to the original scope of work.
8. Project Cost & Budget Tracking
Assist with maintaining financial control of projects.
9. Construction Phase Support
Work closely with the Project Manager and Superintendent throughout active construction.
10. Quality Control & Issue Tracking
Help ensure work is completed correctly and deficiencies are addressed promptly.
11. Customer & Client Communication
Assist in maintaining a professional and positive customer experience.
12. Inspections & Project Milestones
Track required inspections, approvals, and project milestones.
13. Project Completion & Punch List
Assist with bringing the project from substantial completion to final completion.
14. Project Closeout
Ensure every project is properly closed out and all required documentation is complete.

Compensation: $75,000-$90,000 annually, depending on experience
