SMSI is seeking a skilled and safety-driven Electrician to join our growing team. In this role, you’ll handle a variety of commercial and industrial electrical projectsfrom installations and upgrades to troubleshooting and maintenance. If you take pride in quality work, think critically in the field, and bring strong technical knowledge, we’d like to hear from you.

This position is primarily local, with occasional travel required.

Compensation will be determined based on the candidate's experience and qualifications.

Compensation:

$32 - $35 hourly


Responsibilities:

  • Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems and components in accordance with applicable codes and safety standards

  • Diagnose and service motor and control systems in commercial and industrial environments

  • Install and assemble conduit, raceways, and cable tray systems

  • Perform preventive maintenance on electrical systems and equipment

  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals

  • Install and configure VFDs, soft starts, transformers, motors, and panelboards

  • Run and pull wire, conduit, and other electrical materials of various sizes

  • Make proper connections for motors, transformers, and related equipment

  • Operate equipment such as threaders, pipe benders, and cable tuggers

  • Manage small projects and service calls while maintaining high-quality standards

  • This is a safety-sensitive position


Qualifications:
  • Journeyman Electrician license required
  • Proven experience in commercial and/or industrial electrical work
  • Strong understanding of electrical systems, theory, materials, and equipment
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and schematics
  • Proficient with standard hand and power tools used in the trade
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Physically capable of performing job-related tasks
  • Willingness to travel up to 50% as needed (majority of work is local)
