Direct Support Professional DSP

The Direct Support Professional (DSP) plays a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for individuals with developmental disabilities, particularly children and adolescents. Working primarily on the evening shift, this role involves providing independent, compassionate support through personal care, communication assistance, and crisis intervention, while utilizing Positive Behavior Support models to promote positive outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Assist clients with daily living activities and personal care needs
• Provide communication support tailored to individual client needs
• Implement Positive Behavior Support techniques to foster positive behaviors
• Intervene effectively during crises to ensure client safety
• Work independently while maintaining consistent documentation and reporting

Preferred Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience in direct support services
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Certified in First Aid and CPR
• Experience with G-tube care
• Strong communication skills
• Effective problem-solving abilities
