Key Responsibilities:- Review job packagesthoroughly, including routing, blueprints, specifications, and documentation to understand process plans, part configurations, materials, tooling, and required equipment.
- Build machine setupsper documented plans, utilizing knowledge of machining practices, material properties, and proper setup procedures.
- Operate CNC and conventional lathes, milling machines, and grinders, ensuring safe and efficient production of quality parts.
- Optimize machining processesby making adjustments to setups and operations to improve efficiency and part quality.
- Verify part conformanceusing precision measuring instruments (e.g., micrometers, calipers, gauges) and take corrective action as needed.
- Document and report deviationsin machining processes viaProcess Discrepancy Reports (PDRs)and assist in root cause analysis.
- Train and mentor less experienced machiniststo enhance technical competencies within the team.
- Follow allsafety protocols, operational procedures, and quality standardsto maintain a safe and productive work environment.
Qualifications & Skills:- Proven experience as a Machinistin a manufacturing or production setting.
- Strong knowledge ofCNC and manual machining operations(lathes, mills, grinders).
- Ability to read and interpretblueprints, schematics, and technical documentation.
- Proficiency inprecision measuring toolsandGD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing).
- Experience troubleshooting machining processes and optimizing production.
- Ability to work independently, problem-solve, and mentor junior machinists.
- CNC programming knowledge(G-code, M-code) is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
