Job Description

Workforce Development Manager

Full-Time | Warrensburg, MO | RISE Community Services

Why You’ll Want to Work at RISE

You’re looking for more than your next job. You want a place where you can develop people, contribute ideas, build meaningful programs, and continue growing as a leader.

RISE offers 100% employer-paid health insurance, paid time off, retirement matching, tuition reimbursement, paid training, professional development, and opportunities for growth. You’ll join a mission-driven organization that values connection, engagement, belonging, and developing the next generation of leaders.

What You’ll Get to Own

You’ll help shape how employees learn, grow, and build their careers at RISE. You’ll lead and improve onboarding, training, professional development, career pathways, and workforce-development efforts while partnering with leaders to strengthen engagement, performance, and retention.

This isn’t a position where you simply manage a training calendar. You’ll be expected to get into the work, identify what employees and teams need, build solutions, and follow through to see if they worked.

You’ll Have the Opportunity to

  • Lead and improve onboarding, training, and professional development
  • Develop career pathways and help identify future leaders
  • Coach employees and leaders to strengthen performance
  • Create and improve training programs, tools, resources, and processes
  • Work alongside departments to identify skill and development needs
  • Support employee engagement, retention, and workforce initiatives
  • Use workforce and training data to identify opportunities
  • Lead projects from idea implementation results
  • Partner across HR, Quality & Compliance, and operational teams

You May Be a Great Fit If You

  • Love helping people grow and see their potential
  • Believe great leaders develop more leaders
  • Take ownership instead of waiting to be told what to do
  • Enjoy building new programs and improving existing ones
  • Can turn ideas into organized, actionable plans
  • Balance compassion with accountability
  • Ask questions before jumping to solutions
  • Enjoy coaching, facilitating, and developing others
  • Are comfortable getting out from behind your desk and into the work
  • Follow through and regularly ask, “How can we make this better?”

What You’ll Need

Experience in training and development, workforce development, organizational development, leadership development, HR, operations leadership, or people management would translate well to this role.

More importantly, we’re looking for someone who can develop people, build relationships, manage projects, solve problems, communicate well, and turn ideas into action. This role also requires travel between RISE locations and hands-on involvement with teams.
