Position Summary
APEX General Inc. is seeking a skilled and motivated HVAC Technician to install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair residential and commercial heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems. The ideal candidate is safety-focused, customer-oriented, and capable of delivering high-quality workmanship while representing the company professionally in the field.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Install residential and commercial HVAC systems.
- Perform maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on heating and cooling equipment.
- Troubleshoot electrical, refrigerant, airflow, and control system issues.
- Install and replace furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, mini-split systems, package units, and rooftop units.
- Perform system startups, testing, and commissioning.
- Measure and verify system performance including airflow, temperature split, refrigerant charge, voltage, and amperage.
- Complete preventative maintenance inspections and provide recommendations to customers.
- Maintain accurate job notes, photos, and documentation within company software.
- Ensure compliance with manufacturer specifications, local codes, and safety regulations.
- Maintain company vehicles, tools, and equipment in clean working condition.
- Communicate effectively with customers, dispatchers, project managers, and team members.
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years HVAC installation and/or service experience preferred.
- EPA Certification required.
- Valid driver's license with clean driving record.
- Strong understanding of HVAC systems, controls, electrical components, and refrigeration cycles.
- Ability to read blueprints, wiring diagrams, and equipment specifications.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in attics, crawl spaces, rooftops, and outdoor environments.
Preferred Certifications
- EPA Universal Certification
- NATE Certification
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30
- Manufacturer Training Certifications
Physical Requirements
- Lift and carry equipment up to 50 pounds.
- Climb ladders and work at heights.
- Work in varying weather conditions.
- Stand, kneel, bend, and crouch for extended periods.
