Accounting Manager

Growing distribution-focused business is seeking a hands-on Accounting Manager to lead day-to-day accounting operations, supervise a small team, and serve as a key business partner to the CFO. This role is ideal for an experienced accountant who enjoys owning the month-end close process, delivering accurate financial reporting, and providing inventory and operational accounting support.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the full accounting cycle, month-end close, and preparation of monthly financial statements and reporting packages.
  • Maintain the general ledger and ensure accurate financial reporting in accordance with US GAAP.
  • Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, accruals, and balance sheet analyses.
  • Oversee inventory accounting, costing analysis, and reporting for distribution operations.
  • Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, and fixed asset accounting.
  • Supervise and develop a team of 2 Accounting Clerks.
  • Support year-end audit and external accounting requirements.
  • Partner directly with the CFO on financial reporting, analysis, and process improvements.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience with full-cycle accounting through financial statement preparation.
  • Strong inventory accounting, costing, and financial analysis experience.
  • Background within manufacturing, distribution, or a related industry.
  • Previous supervisory experience preferred.
  • Experience with mid-to-large ERP systems such as NetSuite, Sage, Microsoft Dynamics, SAP, Oracle, or similar.
  • Advanced Excel skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
