We are looking for a Line Cook to join our team that thrives on bringing health and pleasure to our customers through meals made with love.

Job Description

At The Cottage Grocery, our Line Cooks enjoy collaborating with a tight-knit Kitchen Staff to prepare a variety of original dishes including lunches, appetizers, dinners, and more! This position reports to our Kitchen Manager.

Shift:

Evenings, 3-11

Responsibilities

• Review daily recipe assignments and follow recipes to ensure minimal waste and cooking meals according to our recipes or customer requests.
• Ensuring the quality and presentation of food items.
• Packaging and labeling products according to Cottage Grocery guidelines.
• Maintaining cleanliness and organization in the kitchen, regularly wiping down work station, and complying with sanitation regulations. Note: our Kitchen Staff includes a dishwasher responsible for washing cooking equipment and utensils!
• Monitoring inventory and supplies and informing our Porters or KM when supplies are needed.
• Contribute to the team environment by completing other tasks as required.

Qualifications

• Valid Food Handlers License (Company will pay for License and continued maintenance).
• Ability to stand for long periods, lift heavy ingredients and equipment, and work in a hot environment.
• Passion for cooking and willingness to learn and comply with new recipes.
• Attention to detail.
• Ability to multitask to efficiently and safely prepare recipes in bulk.
• Previous experience working as a commercial or restaurant cook is a plus!
