A Hueman client is hiring a Human Resources Administrative Assistant in Lafayette, IN.

HR Administrative Assistant

Duration: 3-month contract. Likely to turn into an FTE in 2027.

Hours: 7am - 4pm

Location: On-site in Lafayette

Reports To: Human Resources Business Partner

Position Summary

Provides administrative support to the plant. This includes coordinating recruitment activities, onboarding new employees, maintaining employee records, organizational charts, tracking compliance requirements, filing, data entry, sorting, and assisting with HR programs and initiatives

Key Responsibilities

  • Assistswith onboarding of new employees by assuring appropriate assets and systems access is requested.
  • Conduct new hire orientation and support a positive onboarding experience for new employees.
  • Process new hire paperwork and ensure completion of all onboarding requirements.
  • Assist with employee offboarding activities, including exit documentation and record maintenance.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential employee digital files and HR records.
  • Track employee training completion and maintain compliance-related records.
  • Ensure HR documentation is organized, up to date, and in compliance with company policies and applicable regulations.
  • Generate HR reports and provide data to support business and departmental needs.
  • Support HR projects, audits, and organizational initiatives.
  • Handlesconfidential data and professionally managesinteractions and correspondence with all levels of internal and external employees, customers,and suppliers.
  • Interactswith senior leaders within the company and within the supply base.
  • Modelsa service-oriented, collaborative environment across the organization.
  • Supports the organization in obtaining business tools and supplies for users within the organization.
  • Ensuresbest practices are utilized across the team.
  • Maintains a physical presence in the workplace.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent experience required.
    • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong computer skills: SharePoint, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, etc.
  • Experience using HRIS systems such as ADP, UKG or SAP SuccessFactors.
  • Proficient interpersonal skills to work effectively with others – including global personnel
  • Some level of analytical ability where problems are complex.
  • Collaboration in a variety of work settings.
  • Some degree of creativity and latitude.
  • Exceptional organizational skills.
  • Good time management skills.
  • Ability to organize, plan, document tasks, and prioritize work
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and maintain compliance with company policies and applicable regulations.

Experience

  • 3+ years of experience in supporting office environment
