Job Description
Join Our Team at Our Family-Owned Caf!

Are you passionate about food and looking to be part of a close-knit team? Our small, family-grown caf has been serving our community for 10 wonderful years, and we’re looking for an experienced Production & Prep Cook to help us continue delivering the quality and care our customers have come to love. If you thrive in a fast-paced kitchen environment and have a knack for organization and teamwork, we’d love to hear from you!

What You'll Be Doing:

Managing daily prep, executing consistent batch production, and supporting a smooth service flow in a small, familyrun kitchen. This role is handson, detaildriven, and ideal for someone who enjoys working independently, staying organized, and producing highquality food with consistency.

Key Responsibilities
  • Daily Production Cooking Prepare core caf components (spreads, fillings, sauces, baked items, and batched ingredients) according to established recipes and standards.
  • Ingredient Prep Chop, portion, label, and organize ingredients for service; maintain accurate rotation and freshness.
  • Recipe Execution Follow detailed recipes with precision; maintain consistent flavor, texture, and presentation.
  • Station Organization Keep prep and production areas clean, stocked, and ready for service; maintain efficient workflow.
  • Service Support Assist with ticket fulfillment during busy periods by assembling menu items with accuracy and speed. At times this may need to be executed independently. (Make sandwiches, salads, sauces, soups, fillings, baking scones, pizzas, plating)
  • Batch Scheduling Plan and prioritize production tasks to ensure all items are ready before service begins.
  • Food Safety Maintain proper labeling, temperature control, sanitation, and storage practices.
  • Independence & Reliability Work efficiently with minimal supervision; arrive on time and communicate proactively.
  • Baking: baking sones and other pastries.
What We're Looking For:

We’re seeking someone who brings both skill and enthusiasm to the role. To be successful, you’ll need:

  • Kitchen Experience: Prior back-of-house (BOH) experience is preferred for this position. Baking experience a plus!
  • Attention to Detail: A commitment to following recipes and maintaining high standards.
  • Team Player Attitude: The ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively with the team.
  • Availability: Approximately 18-20 hours per week, including weekdays, weekends and some holidays. Please note, we are closed on Mondays and Tuesdays. Required availability is Friday-Sunday at this time.

IMPORTANT!! This position requires initiative and independence once training is complete. The ideal candidate does not need to be given step by step lists of tasks for every shift. They are expected to access the kitchen's needs, prioritize their work and taken ownership of getting the kitchen prepared for service.
