Reinsurance Accountant

Position Description

• Location: Stamford, CT (3 days per week in office)
• Full Time 40 hours per week
• Start Date: ASAP
• End Date: 6 Months (with possibility of extension)

Statutory Accounting & Investment Reporting Consultant, Sr Statutory CorporateAccountant

Summary:The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the preparation of financial statements and investor reports, performing detailed analytics, and assisting with the testing, implementation, and ongoing development of the Ceded Reinsurance and ILS strategies. This includes coordinating new projects, managing bordereau reports, and providing data-driven insights to enhance financial reporting and streamlining and automation processes. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in (re)insurance, with preferred experience in finance, actuarial, or analytics.

Required Skills and Abilities:

• Relevant experience within the insurance and/or reinsurance industry.

• Strong data and analytics skills.

• Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Excel, with the ability to leverage advanced features including Excel Macros and VBA.

• Accounting, finance or actuarial background preferred.

• Ability to clearly and concisely communicate complex information, both verbally and in writing.

• Proactive and adaptable, with the ability to effectively address challenges as they arise.

• Proven ability to multitask efficiently while maintaining a high level of attention to detail.

• Strong stakeholder management skills, with a results-oriented approach to achieving objectives.
