What You'll Do
As a Mold Setter, you will:
- Safely complete mold changes according to the production schedule and established procedures.
- Prepare for mold changes by gathering the correct tools, equipment, molds, and materials before beginning the changeover.
- Follow mold-change checklists and verify that each mold change has been completed correctly before releasing the machine for production.
- Install and remove molds, clamps, bolts, hoses, water lines, and related components.
- Set up workstations with the appropriate secondary equipment and machinery needed for production.
- Confirm molds and equipment are clean, properly connected, and ready for production.
- Clean molds and apply rust preventative before molds are placed into storage.
- Clean hoppers when material changes are required.
- Inspect and clean dryer filters and replace filters as needed.
- Clean and maintain molding equipment and supporting equipment, including thermolators, grinders, dryers, pumps, compressors, and other secondary equipment.
- Lubricate equipment and maintain proper fluid and lubricant levels as required.
- Remove unused clamps, bolts, hoses, and tools from presses and return them to designated storage areas.
- Update tool date stamps and date wheels according to established work instructions.
- Maintain clean, safe, and organized work areas following 5S principles.
- Communicate mold-change status, equipment concerns, and production information between shifts.
- Immediately report safety concerns, oil leaks, spills, equipment issues, or other hazards to the appropriate team member or supervisor.
- Participate in continuous improvement activities and identify opportunities to make mold changes safer, faster, and more efficient.
- Follow all company safety procedures, work instructions, and required PPE requirements.

Education & Experience
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- One year or more of related manufacturing, mold-setting, machine setup, or mechanical experience preferred.
- Previous plastic injection molding experience is a plus.
- Equivalent combinations of education, training, and experience will be considered.
