Host/Hostess

The Ranch Sports Grill a full-service restaurant and bar and is great for sporting events and families as well. We are dedicated to providing memorable experiences through our passion for service and our community.

We are currently looking for a part-time Host/Hostess to join our restaurant team. The ideal candidate would be a self-starter and team player who enjoys working with people and has the desire to grow and take on more responsibility in the restaurant.

Flexible Hours. Shifts are available weekdays, weekends and holidays.

Job Summary:

As a Host/Hostess, it is important for you to understand the importance of your role as part of the Restaurant. This position greets, seats and presents clean menus to our customers, answers all incoming phone calls and provides assistance to the restaurant staff as needed. It is paramount that you provide superior service to our guests.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC RESPONSIBLITIES:

• Greet the guests when arriving.
• Control the flow of work in the room by seating customers in assigned server stations to maintain a well organized rotation.
• Ensure all tables and chairs are clean and maintained by the servers and bussers in the assigned station.
• Handle reservation book, take incoming telephone calls, note reservations and special requests by customers.
  
• Ensure that special requests from guests are known by the servers and bussers.
• Clean and maintain all menus and ensure that the proper pages are in place.
• Knowledge of all menu items, prices and general service procedures.
  
• Assist in table setting and general dining room maintenance during peak periods utilizing the appropriate table settings and service ware.
• Upon seating, offer guests a menu and inform them of their server’s name. Inspect table for proper presentation and completeness.
• Thank guests as they leave and invite them to return.
  
• Provide general information for sporting events.
• Assist Managers with additional tasks as needed.
• Requires good communication skills, both verbal and written, and basic computer skills.
• Must possess a valid Food Handler Card to maintain employment.
