About the Role

The Senior Accountant is responsible for managing and supporting key accounting functions, including general ledger accounting, month-end close, account reconciliations, financial reporting, accounts payable and receivable, fixed assets, and inventory accounting. This role works closely with the Accounting Manager, Controller, Operations, and other departments to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, maintain strong accounting controls, and support the company’s overall financial operations.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • 3–5+ years of accounting experience, preferably within a manufacturing or corporate environment.
  • Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and general accounting principles.
  • Hands-on experience with month-end and year-end close processes.
  • Advanced Excel skills, including PivotTables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and financial analysis.
  • Experience working with ERP and/or accounting systems.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple deadlines.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and time-management skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in manufacturing or cost accounting is preferred.
  • Knowledge of inventory accounting and standard costing.
  • Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar platforms.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, growing, or international organization is a plus.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and maintain general ledger accounts and ensure accurate accounting records.
  • Prepare and post monthly journal entries, accruals, and adjusting entries.
  • Support monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes.
  • Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.
  • Analyze income statements and balance sheet accounts and investigate variances.
  • Prepare monthly financial statements and management reports.
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and other financial analysis activities.
  • Monitor cash activity and perform bank reconciliations.
  • Maintain fixed asset records and prepare depreciation calculations.
  • Manage inventory accounting, including reconciliations and variance analysis.
  • Support cost accounting activities, including product costing and manufacturing cost analysis.
  • Assist with annual audits, tax requests, and other compliance-related activities.
  • Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP and company accounting policies and procedures.
  • Help develop and improve accounting processes and internal controls.
  • Partner with Operations and other departments to research and resolve accounting-related issues.
  • Support the Controller and Finance Manager with special projects and financial analysis as needed.
