eDrive Inverter Industrialization/Manufacturing Engineer

The eDrive Inverter Industrialization/Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible for developing and documenting the key Inverter assembly processes as well as supporting the tier 1 Inverter assembler with implementing the Inverter assembly processes for production.

Key responsibilities include:

· Developing and documenting Inverter manufacturing and assembly processes (i.e. laser welding, PCBA soldering, etc.)

· Develop and maintain engineering specifications for the Inverter assembly Support tier 1 Inverter assembler with adapting Inverter assembly processes toward mass production Contribute toward decision making of tier 1 Inverter assembler production equipment selection

· Prototyping manufacturing tools and fixtures to aid in the Inverter assembly process Support tier 1 Inverter assembler with developing/creating manufacturing tools and fixtures for production

· Conduct DOEs to prove out Inverter manufacturing and assembly processes

· Maintain and procure parts to develop prototype manufacturing tools/fixtures

· SPOC for the traction inverter commodity, supporting systems team to manage, track and report out on all timing, cost, engineering deliverable and issue status.

· Manages traction inverter component BOM and electrical interfaces/ device transmittals with cross-functional teams.

· Leading GPDS unit and program deliverables (unit requirements, design rules, etc.) and reporting out milestone status to cross-functional teams.

· Work under tight production deadlines Mechanical design & engineering

· 3D CAD: CATIA, NX, Creo, SolidWorks, or similar

· 2D drawings and GD&T

· Tolerance stack-up analysis

· Materials and manufacturing processes

· Design for Manufacturing/Assembly (DFM/DFA)

· Design validation and testing

· Basic engineering calculations and structural analysis Product development

· Understanding the product development lifecycle from concept to design to prototype to validation to production

· iDesign reviews and engineering change management

· Root-cause analysis and problem solving

· Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA)

· Design verification/validation

· Prototype and pre-production builds Release/change management

· Engineering drawings, specifications, and BOMs

· Engineering change requests/orders (DCR/ECO)

· Product configuration and revision control

· Ensuring designs meet company, regulatory, and manufacturing requirements

· Injection molding, stamping, machining, casting, forging, welding, etc.

· Assembly processes

· Tooling and fixtures

· Manufacturing quality processes

· Supplier development

· Supplier technical reviews

· PPAP/APQP, particularly in automotive

· Working with manufacturing plants to resolve build issues

ADDITIONAL SKILLS:

Software skills i. CAD: CATIA / Siemens NX / Creo / SolidWorks i. Office: Excel, PowerPoint, Word i. Data/analysis: Excel, MATLAB, Python, or similar can be a significant advantage i. Drawing/GD&T: experience creating and interpreting engineering drawings Engineering & quality tools i. GD&T ASME Y14.5 i. Tolerance stack-ups i. FMEA i. 8D problem solving i. 5-Why i. Fishbone i. DOE i. Statistical Process Control (SPC) i. Capability studies (Cp/Cpk) i. Design of Experiments i. Reliability testing i. Root-cause analysis

Experience Required:

The minimum requirements we seek:

· Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering or science field Two (2) years of electrical module assembly experience

· Understanding of electrical module DFM requirements

· Understanding of product development workstreams- specification development, design, build, validation, and industrialization activities.

· In-depth knowledge of developing engineering specifications for assembly processes Good written and communication skills.

Experience Preferred:

Our preferred requirements:

· Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering or related field Knowledge of laser welding and selective soldering processes

· Project management and risk management skills

Education Required:

· Bachelor's Degree
