Description
- Prepare detailed estimates and bid proposals for multifamily construction projects
- Review drawings, specifications, scopes of work, and project documents
- Perform quantity takeoffs and develop accurate cost estimates
- Solicit, evaluate, and negotiate subcontractor and vendor pricing
- Identify scope gaps, inconsistencies, and potential cost risks
- Develop competitive bids while maintaining project profitability
- Collaborate with Project Managers and preconstruction teams throughout the estimating process
- Maintain relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors
- Participate in bid reviews and turnover meetings
- Assist with value engineering and cost-saving opportunities
- Track market pricing and maintain up-to-date estimating information
Profile
- Proven experience estimating garden-style multifamily projects
- Strong understanding of wood-frame multifamily construction
- Experience with quantity takeoffs, subcontractor pricing, and bid analysis
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Proficiency with construction estimating software and Microsoft Office
- Ability to manage multiple estimates and deadlines simultaneously
