Position Summary

The QC Inspector is responsible for inspecting elbow segments to ensure they are cut to the specified degree and meet applicable customer, drawing, and quality requirements. This position will perform dimensional inspections, document inspection results, identify nonconforming material, and communicate quality issues to production and supervision.

The QC Inspector will also provide support with inbound material inspections and other quality-control activities as needed.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Inspect elbow segments to verify they are cut to the specified degree and meet drawing and customer requirements.
  • Verify dimensions and critical characteristics using appropriate inspection equipment.
  • Perform dimensional inspections using tape measures, calipers, angle-measuring tools, and other basic inspection equipment.
  • Verify material identification, quantities, dimensions, and other specified requirements.
  • Identify, document, and communicate nonconforming material.
  • Complete inspection records and maintain accurate quality documentation.
  • Work closely with production personnel to identify and address quality issues.
  • Perform re-inspections of corrected or reworked material when required.
  • Follow established inspection procedures, work instructions, and quality standards.
  • Assist with investigations of quality issues and provide feedback to production.
  • Perform inbound inspection of incoming material and orders as assigned.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe inspection area.
  • Perform other quality-related duties as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in quality control, inspection, manufacturing, fabrication, machining, or a related industrial environment preferred.
  • Ability to read and understand basic drawings, dimensions, and specifications.
  • Ability to accurately use a tape measure and calipers.
  • Basic understanding of dimensional measurement and inspection practices.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to identify dimensional or visual discrepancies.
  • Ability to accurately document inspection results.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with production personnel, supervisors, and quality management.
  • Ability to work independently while following established procedures and priorities.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

  • Ability to work effectively in a manufacturing environment with elevated noise levels and varying temperatures.
  • Comfortable working around normal industrial equipment, material handling activities, and other manufacturing operations.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to frequently bend, reach, and maneuver around manufactured components and inspection areas.
  • Ability to lift and handle inspection equipment and materials as required.
  • Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), including hearing protection, safety glasses, and other PPE as required.
  • Must be able to maintain focus and accuracy in an active industrial environment.
