Job Description

The General Production Operator supports high-volume beverage production by working across the can, bottling, and bagging lines, as well as assisting with material handling as needed. This role operates and monitors production and packaging equipment, helps maintain a clean and efficient line, and ensures products meet quality and safety standards in a modern, climate-controlled facility.

Responsibilities

  • Operate and monitor equipment on the can, bottling, and bagging lines to support continuous production.
  • Assist with material handling activities, including moving materials and products to and from production lines.
  • Set up, adjust, and operate production and filling machines in accordance with standard operating procedures.
  • Support labeling, blow molding, and filling operations to ensure products are packaged correctly and efficiently.
  • Perform basic mechanical and assembly tasks related to production equipment as needed.
  • Follow manufacturing and food/beverage production guidelines to maintain product quality and consistency.
  • Adhere to all safety procedures and use equipment and machinery in a safe and responsible manner.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area to support a safe and efficient production environment.
  • Work primarily on 1st shift while flexibly filling in on 2nd shift as scheduled.
  • Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet production targets and resolve issues promptly.

Essential Skills

  • Previous manufacturing experience in a production environment.
  • Ability to operate or learn to operate production and machine equipment safely and effectively.
  • Capability to perform repetitive tasks while maintaining attention to detail and quality.
  • Willingness and ability to work primarily 1st shift (approximately 6:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.) with flexibility to work as late as 5:00 p.m. as needed.
  • Flexibility to fill in on 2nd shift (approximately 3:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m.) based on scheduling needs.
  • Strong commitment to following safety, quality, and cleanliness standards in a manufacturing setting.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Machine operation experience in a production or manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in food or beverage manufacturing.
  • Forklift experience or previous forklift operation in a warehouse or production setting.
  • Familiarity with labeling, blow mold equipment, and filling machines.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude to support equipment operation and minor adjustments.

Work Environment

The role is based in a very clean, climate-controlled production facility focused on bottling, canning, and bagging beverage products. Team members work primarily on 1st shift from approximately 6:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., with the possibility of working as late as 5:00 p.m., and may fill in on 2nd shift from approximately 3:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. as needed. The environment includes operating production machinery, filling machines, blow mold equipment, labeling systems, and potentially forklifts and other material handling equipment. Employees are expected to follow all safety protocols and wear appropriate attire and protective equipment suitable for a manufacturing and food-grade production setting.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of COLUMBUS, OH.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $26.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
