Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree, active Pharmacist license, and minimum 1+ years Pharmacist experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

A healthcare facility in Spring, TX is seeking an experienced Pharmacist to serve as Pharmacist in Charge (PIC) and Staff Pharmacist on a contract basis for approximately 8-12 weeks. This role offers an opportunity to lead pharmacy operations in a specialized psych inpatient setting within a hospital environment.

Location: Spring, TX
Duration: 8-12 weeks contract
Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM
  • Weekend coverage possible (8:00 AM – 2:30 PM) if per diem staff are unavailable
  • On-call coverage may be required to cover any gaps

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee pharmacy operations as Pharmacist in Charge
  • Provide inpatient hospital pharmacy services in a psychiatric care setting
  • Collaborate with a team of 2 pharmacy technicians and 3 PRN pharmacists
  • Manage staff scheduling and ensure continuous pharmacy coverage
  • Utilize HCS as the primary order entry system (training provided)
  • Maintain compliance with regulatory standards and safety protocols
  • Provide support and guidance to pharmacy staff

Qualifications:

  • Active Texas Pharmacist license required
  • Minimum of 2 years of PIC experience preferred
  • Strong knowledge of inpatient hospital pharmacy procedures, especially psychiatric care
  • Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and on-call shifts if needed
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
