Janitorial Worker - Part Time

This part-time janitorial role offers a highly active position cleaning a multi-floor industrial facility that includes offices, labs, cleanrooms, hallways, staircases, storage rooms, restrooms, and a caf. You will work 4 hours each day, focusing on maintaining a clean, safe, and orderly environment through consistent, high-quality cleaning practices, including specialized work in controlled cleanroom spaces.

• Clean a variety of facility areas, including offices, hallways, cleanrooms, staircases, storage rooms, restrooms, and caf spaces on a weekly and as-needed basis.
• Perform daily janitorial tasks such as dusting, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and emptying and replacing trash bins.
• Operate a floor scrubber and other provided cleaning equipment safely and efficiently to maintain floors and other surfaces.
• Suit up in required protective attire, including body suit, glasses, and hood, before entering cleanrooms and ensure all cleanroom protocols are followed.
• Use a backpack vacuum, sterile mop, and bucket to clean cleanroom countertops and floors according to established standards.
• Maintain a safe work environment by cleaning safely and posting wet floor signs or other appropriate safety signage when necessary.
• Climb and use staircases frequently to move between floors, using elevators only for equipment transport as directed.
• Work mainly independently to complete assigned cleaning tasks, while collaborating with partners when needed for larger or more complex cleaning projects.
• Follow all facility procedures, including proper use and care of cleaning and protective equipment, and report any safety hazards or maintenance issues.

• At least 1 year of professional cleaning, janitorial, custodial, or housekeeping experience.
• Demonstrated ability to perform janitorial duties such as sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and trash removal.
• Ability to operate cleaning equipment, including floor scrubbers and backpack vacuums, or willingness to learn.
• Capability and comfort working in cleanroom environments while wearing required protective gear such as body suit, glasses, and hood.
• Consistent dependability and reliability, with a strong record of attendance and punctuality.
• Positive attitude and professional, friendly personality when working independently or with partners.
• Ability to follow safety procedures, including cleaning safely and properly posting wet floor signs.
• Physical ability to stand, walk, climb stairs, bend, and lift as needed throughout a 4-hour shift.

• Experience cleaning industrial facilities, labs, or similar environments.
• Familiarity with cleaning office spaces, restrooms, storage areas, and caf or food service areas.
• Comfort working both independently and as part of a small team to complete shared cleaning tasks.
• Attention to detail when working in controlled environments such as cleanrooms.
• Willingness to follow specific dress and protective equipment requirements.
• Basic understanding of safety and hazard awareness in a facility setting.

You will work inside a two-floor industrial facility that includes labs, office space, restrooms, storage areas, and a caf. The role involves frequent movement between floors using staircases, with elevators reserved primarily for equipment. You will spend most of your time working independently, but you may partner with others to complete larger or more complex cleaning assignments. The position is part-time, 4 hours daily, with a flexible start time between 3:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m., as long as the 4-hour shift is completed before midnight. The employer provides all cleaning and protective equipment, including floor scrubbers, backpack vacuums, and cleanroom protective gear such as body suits, glasses, and hoods. The dress code includes closed-toed shoes and khakis or other neat, professional pants, ensuring a safe and professional appearance while working.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Dexter, MI.

The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $17.00/hr.
