Position: Mechanical Designer / Engineer – Mid to Senior Level
Location: Wixom, MI 48393
Client: Leading Automation Industry
Duration: 6 months temp to hire
Payrate: $50/hr
Shift:Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–4:00 PM
Job Overview
We are looking for a Mid to Senior-Level Mechanical Designer or Engineer with strong experience designing industrial automation systems and complete production cells/lines.
The ideal candidate will have experience designing full automated manufacturing lines, especially for the automotive industry. GM experience, particularly GM powertrain assembly, is highly preferred.
Key Responsibilities
Design complete automation systems, production cells, and assembly lines.
Create 3D models and mechanical assemblies using SolidWorks.
Create 2D drawings and layouts using AutoCAD.
Develop assembly, fabrication, and detailed mechanical drawings.
Design conveyors, robotic cells, tooling, guarding, material handling, and automated stations.
Work with electrical, controls, manufacturing, and engineering teams.
Support designs through build, installation, and production.
Required Skills
Mid to Senior-level mechanical design/engineering experience.
Strong industrial automation experience.
Experience designing complete automation lines or production cells.
Strong SolidWorks skills.
Strong AutoCAD skills.
Experience creating assembly drawings.
Manufacturing/automotive experience is preferred.
